LONG ISLAND RESTAURANT

OPEN SINCE 1951

“We chose the name Long Island Bar & Restaurant because Brooklyn was still considered a part of Long Island back then. They weren’t thought of as two separate places like they are now. When my husband was alive we would keep the bar open until 4 AM, but now that I am running it by myself, I close up at 9 P.M. I like to keep working because it keeps me busy and that way I won’t think about how much I miss Buddy. The bar has always had the best customers and for over 50 years we’ve never even had a fight break out in here.” Emma Sullivan, owner of Long Island Bar & Restaurant
